Earlier this year, we visited the Moncler Genius initiative, involving several key label’s who were tasked with reimagining the outerwear specialist’s iconic down jacket in such a way the best embodies each of their respective philosophies. Craig Green and his noted 5 Moncler Craig Green collection were part of the collaborative campaign, joining an impressive list comprised of other such design mavericks. Subtitled “Clothing as Protection,” the avant-garde offering fused Moncler’s performance technologies along with the artist’s survivalist sensibilities, creating padded vests, coats, bags and trousers fashioned from matte nylon.

And now, with Moncler Genius’s highly-anticipated third drop now available for retail, SSENSE put together a themed installation, which can best be described as an atmospheric recreation of the range’s Milan Fashion Week extravaganza, pitting Green’s forward-thinking fabrications against an army of Isabel + Helen-constructed sculptures. An immersive display that pivots architectural design around the concepts of style and functionality, while grand in scale, poignantly highlights much of Green’s artistic language, including contrast stitching, textural pinstripes and elongated strap mechanisms, amongst others.

The 5 Moncler Craig Green exhibit is open now at SSENSE’s Montreal location and will run through until September 10, meanwhile, the collection itself is now available via SSENSE’s online store.
