Craig Green is a British fashion designer, born and raised in North London. Having originally enrolled at Central Saint Martins to study fine art, he and his tutors soon realised his potential in fashion. Despite the absence of fashion in his upbringing- his father was a plumber and his uncle a carpenter- the fact that Green grew up surrounded by tradesmen was sufficient creative inspiration. This sense of DIY masculinity runs through all of his designs, as well as an appreciation of shape and space. After graduating from the renowned CSM MA Fashion course, Green debuted his first collection for MAN at LC:M in 2013, which included wooden sculpture headpieces that provoked much attention, both positive and negative. Despite dividing critic opinions, Green went on to win the appreciation of any skeptics with his subsequent collections. His first solo collection at LC:M SS15, featuring the monochrome palette and abstract silhouettes that characterise much of his work, moved the audience to tears. His designs encompass an avant garde approach to both form and materials, without forgoing wearability; his garments are stocked in renowned stores such as IT and Comme des Garçons.
From Jonathan Anderson’s supersized Dior cargos to Willy Chavarria’s brocade trousers, we’ve curated the most interesting menswear developments from the SS26 runways.
