After releasing its “Internet Surveillance” Fall/Winter 2018 lookbook earlier this month London’s maharishi is back with a new capsule produced from raw hemp. The choice of material is a reflection of maharishi’s ethos of creating sustainable utilitarian clothing with hemp fitting this description as well as bringing durability and natural strength to the fabric.
The hemp is used to create a special blend alongside organic cotton, with the resultant fabric being breathable, biodegradable and more efficient at blocking UV rays. The loungewear capsule consists of hooded sweatshirts, trackpants and shorts, all of which are treated with a garment dying process — giving them all a washed and worn-in appearance — and also feature raw-edged seams. The collection is available exclusively from the maharishi web store and London flagship.
