A ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Sequel Has Been Confirmed
The next chapter of Kevin Kwan’s trilogy, ‘China Rich Girlfriend.’

After raking in $34 million USD in box-office revenue this past weekend, The Hollywood Reporter has just confirmed that Crazy Rich Asians will be getting a sequel.
The film, based on Kevin Kwan’s novel of the same name, follows the main character Rachel Chu as she travels to Singapore to meet her boyfriend’s family who turn out to be “crazy rich.” So far the film has been met with positive reviews, also considering it has been shining a much-needed light on the Asian-American market. According to THR, Warner Bros. is “moving forward with development on the follow-up,” while director Jon M. Chu, as well as the creative team from the first movie will return. Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians is part of a trilogy which includes China Rich Girlfriend, and Rich People Problems. Stay tuned for more details.
