Beyoncé & JAY-Z Will Give $1 Million USD in Scholarships
To 11 exceptional senior high school students.
Power couple Beyoncé and JAY-Z have teamed up for a scholarship between The BeyGOOD Initiative and The Shawn Carter Foundation. The scholarship will give $100,000 USD to ”one exceptional senior high school student, with financial needs” to use toward their college education. In order to enter, the press release says that the student must “demonstrate academic excellence and show financial needs that would make it hard for them to enter a college or university for the academic year 2018-2019.” The Carters will give out a total of $1.1 million USD for 11 students in 11 cities.
The applicant must be a senior student based in one of the cities in the US where JAY and Bey’s ‘On The Run Tour II’ takes place place – which includes Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Arlington, New Orleans, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Clara and Seattle. The Boys and Girls Club of America in the each city will decide on the winner who receives the scholarship in their city.
