HBO Shares Quick Glimpse of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8
Don’t blink.
Though fans must wait until 2019 for the return of Game of Thrones, HBO has just teased the first footage of the hit fantasy’s eighth and final season.
As part of HBO’s latest promo video, highlighting the cable network’s 2019 lineup, the just shy of two-minute clip includes a brief glance at Jon Snow and Sansa Stark embracing each other. Though it looks as if it’s old footage of the pair uniting at Castle Black in season 7, this is actually a clip at the two reuniting at Winterfell. The quick glimpse is then accompanied by the words, “Final Season.” Check it out at the 1:10 mark. No other new GoT footage was included in the promo clip. Game of Thrones is now expected to return in late 2019.
HBO’s 2019 promo also includes a look at True Detective‘s third season, however a one-minute teaser starring Mahershala Ali has also just been released.
