adidas’s New Micro R1 Is an Interpretative Fusion of the Micropacer & NMD R1
Old meets new. Again.
Similar in concept to the Futurepacer, it seems that adidas has fused the old-school Micropacer with yet another of its contemporary runners to create the all-new Micro R1 silhouette. As its names suggests, design elements of the NMD R1 get thrown into the mix, as can be seen in the full-length BOOST midsole, EVA inserts, heel pull tab and low-profile black outsole.
A metallic silver base coats the majority of the upper with light blue accents coming by way of the side panel Three Stripes branding and decorative heel counter, while a light grey-hue envelops the front bumper. Another interpretive take on merging heritage style with progressive ideologies, the new Micro R1 will make its debut on September 1 at select adidas stockists. Price has still yet to be confirmed, so be sure to check back for updates.
In other Three Stripes news, the Solebox x adidas Yung-1 arrives this week.
