Tinder's New "Loops" Feature Enhances Users' Profile Pictures
The feature has increased right-swipes by 10 percent in some areas.
Tinder Loops is the newest video feature announced by the dating app, which continuously plays two-second videos to be used for user profile pictures. The app can’t shoot footage from within the app, instead, the app preps users to upload and edit existing videos from their camera roll from iOS; Live Photos work as well.
Tinder has also increased profile photos to nine in order to add Loops without having to delete older pictures. The company has been testing the feature in areas like Japan for months, where users have a 10 percent chance of getting right-swiped if they have a Loop pic in their profile. Loops is currently available in Japan, United Kingdom, United States, France, Korea, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Kuwait, New Zealand, Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and United Arab Emirates.
