Inside KENZO x Tiger Beer's 'Rare Stripes' Collection Launch
A partnership with the WWF to raise awareness for wild tigers.

KENZO has partnered with Tiger Beer and the WWF to launch a special collection for a worthy cause. Inspired to raise global awareness around endangered wild tigers, creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim collaborated with four emerging artists to create the Rare Stripes collection. Illustrator and designer Esther Goh (Singapore), illustrator and printmaker Julienne Tan (Cambodia), contemporary artist and sculptor Meryl Smith (USA) and visual and digital artist Sean Lean (Malaysia) all met with Phurba Lendhup, a WWF Wildlife Specialist from Bhutan, to hear first-hand about the plight of wild tigers and get inspiration for their one-of-a-kind designs.
The launch event, which took place on July 20 at KENZO’s store at Ginza Six in Tokyo, brought together 150 individuals to preview eight unique pieces in the collection. Crafted using Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) organic cotton, 100% of the proceeds will go toward the WWF in support of increasing the wild tiger population. Take a look at some of the designs above and purchase the limited collection at select KENZO retailers starting July 21.
