Foraying into sneaker culture 35 years ago, PUMA‘s classic California silhouette is now receiving a modern makeover. Originally conceived for tennis, the model made a swift transition to the streets, becoming an instant wardrobe staple for its laid-back fashion cues. Now for a new generation, the German-imprint looks to artists like Nipsey Hussle to help sustain the California’s original essence while imbuing popular West Coast vibes.

Subtle backdrops and casual styling reminiscent of Southern Los Angeles complement the model’s motifs. Featured in red and black, the upper contrasts suede and nylon with tumbled leather underscoring the heel and lace guard, all paired with a nubuck formstrip. Embellishments, like the gum sole and accents emblematic of the brand, swathe the shoe to complete the offering.
