Chan Architecture Gives an Edwardian Home a Revamp
Based in Kew, Australia.

The latest house to catch our eye is the Molesworth St House. Created by Chan Architecture, the renovation project takes over a freestanding Edwardian period home which is notable for its awkwardly long and slim dimensions. In addition to the home’s size there was also neighbouring properties and trees to consider, which made the brief of creating an air-filled space difficult to achieve.
In order to fulfil the brief, the studio continued the existing entrance hallway, as well as adding an internal light court and opening up the living room, kitchen and dining spaces in order to allow more light into the rooms. The living room also has a counterweighted split fold window, allowing for an uninterrupted view of nearby surroundings. Take a look through the gallery to see the space for yourself.
