Gonjasufi Returns With "Maniac Depressant" & Announces New Album 'Callus'
His first new album in four years.

The reclusive, enigmatic California punk-poet Gonjasufi has returned with an intense new record. Dubbed “Maniac Depressant,” Gonjasufi’s first new track in years is being released in support of a brand new album from the Warp artist. That project is known as Callus, and will arrive on August 19. Along with “Maniac Depressant,” Gonjasufi has also released a new trailer to promote the his first new album in four years, which you can check out below with his new song. Explaining his next wave of sounds, Gonjasufi describes his new album’s theme as such:
“That’s the callus. How can you not be in pain? It ain’t about getting past that shit. It’s about growing into it. I peeled through all these layers to get to the core. I channeled all the misunderstanding and misery and torment—that’s what it is, torment—into this.”
