Dries Van Noten Crafts Handmade Marble-Printed Raincoats
Extremely limited.
First seen at the tail end of Dries Van Noten‘s color-drenched Fall/Winter 2018 showcase, the designer has unveiled a selection of Ebru marble-printed raincoats exclusive to select retailers around the globe. Each raincoat sources bold detailing from Ebru marbling, a time-consuming Turkish craft that demands a master artisan’s touch. Color pigments are drizzled and brushed into a shallow pan of oily water, which is then transferred to the desired subject — raincoats, in this case. The individual styles are exclusive to select retailers around the globe, with the shops only offering 10 unique variants of each coat. Varying wildly in length and color, the raincoats all offer relaxed cuts to fit over winter layers and either a convertible collar or hood, for elevated weather resistance.
