Cav Empt & Oliver Payne Release 'The Clothes Themselves' Short Film
A glimpse into C.E.’s philosophy.
Rounding up its video installation at Spazio Maiocchi, Cav Empt recently released the short film that was displayed at the special event.
Created in collaboration with British artist and frequent collaborator Oliver Payne, the video offers a look into the philosophy of C.E. and an early look at the Japanese label’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Accompanied by a soundtrack by Jackson Bailey, Payne prompts a visual study of the technology and future-inspired clothing from brand founders Toby Feltwell and Sk8thing. With Italian philosopher Riccardo Manzotti’s “Spread Mind” in its discussion of consciousness as a separation between subject and object serving as the formative element of the propositions made in the short film.
