The latest home we’ve decided to feature is this family-owned space in Khaweng Samsen Nai, Thailand. A family home that has been passed down from generation to generation, the house has stood for over 60 years and required an upgrade. The original architect had ensured to keep the space classically designed and the Monotello design studio was careful to keep this feeling, incorporating traditional Thai space planning throughout.
But the brief was also to update the space for the current owner, with the studio designing the new structures to be independent from the original designs. Steel, concrete and wood was used through to match original finishings and the basement — which had humidity issues — was made part of the centre court. Take a look through the gallery above to see the space for yourself.
