Salehe Bembury Teases a New Versace SS19 Chain Reaction Sneaker
“Still got chain on the brain.”
Ever since Salehe Bembury first grabbed the reins as Versace’s Head of Sneaker design, the gifted artist has unveiled a rash of notable sneakers, including the popular chunky Chain Reaction and a high-top sock-style trainer. With that in mind, Bembury recently hit up Instagram to tease an all-new silhouette from the luxury label’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
Drenched mainly in what appears to be “Volt,” contrasting hits of black and white appear on the toe box and midsole with a gum-hued chain-style outsole sitting below. The uppers spotlight an interesting material medley with mesh taking up room on the lateral side and vamp region, while a smooth textile hits the heel and a grooved, almost bubble effect encapsulates the collar and tongue. Other artistic points of difference show up on the dot graphic found on the front bumper, as well as debossed Versace branding peeking out from the rear midsole.
