'Unfriended: Dark Web' Trailer Showcases the Evil Side of the Internet
Wipe the memory of any used laptop you currently own.
The sequel to 2014’s found footage horror flick Unfriended just debuted with a new trailer. The original focused on a group of teens involved in a student’s suicide on Skype — during the anniversary of which a spirit begins picking them off during their group call.
This installment will deal with the lingering threats on the shady Dark Web, still utilizing POV framework, but focused on a more likable group of friends this time around. A guy is finally able to take home a laptop nobody claimed at his work, and uses it to video conference his friends before looking at the heinous kidnapping videos saved on it. As he and his friends watch, the owner joins the group and throws everyone in a game of life and death.
Check the footage above and look for the film to hit theaters on July 20.
