Raf Simons‘s Spring/Summer 2019 runway show at Paris Fashion Week ushered a revival of menswear tailoring that referenced ’70s/’80s New Wave. Complementing the punk-informed clothing — which centered on bright Duchess satin pieces — were new seasonal footwear and accessories ranges assisted by the Belgian designer’s long-standing collaborators: adidas and Eastpak.
We previously gave a closer look at the adidas by Raf Simons SS19 leather platform boots, and now, we turn our attention to the designer’s SS19 Eastpak collaboration — his eighth collection with the brand. Three Raf Simons x Eastpak SS19 bags were presented on the runway, all capturing the collection’s moody punk theme by referencing the same satin materials and punk rock graphics found on the garments. The flat, rectangular backpacks and pillow cover-like clutches offered a distinctive twist on familiar styles.
More styles will be releasing from the Raf Simons x Eastpak SS19 collection, so stay tuned for details. In the meantime, check out the artist-driven Converse collab at Pigalle’s SS19 show.
