James Harden Named NBA MVP for 2017-18
While Ben Simmons takes home Rookie of the Year.

It might have been expected for a while — adidas even released three sneakers to celebrate — but James Harden has finally been named NBA MVP for the 2017/18 season. The news isn’t particularly surprising, with Harden’s statistics making him almost a dead cert for the award for weeks. The Houston Rockets player defeated LeBron James and Anthony Davis to take home his first MVP award.
As well as crowning James Harden the MVP, the NBA also gave out other awards, including its Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year trophies. Rookie of the Year was won by Ben Simmons, who just eclipsed Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell, while Dwayne Casey won Coach of the Year for his season with the Toronto Raptors, despite the franchise firing him last month.
In other basketball news, J. R. Smith’s Game 1 jersey recently sold for $23,500 USD.
