Kiko Kostadinov Presents Futuristic Workwear for Mackintosh 0004 Collection
Using lead as its key material.
For the fourth installment of his ongoing collaboration with Mackintosh, UK-based designer Kiko Kostadinov has continued to take inspiration from workwear. As with each of the previous collections, Mackintosh 0004 is based on one material, with this season’s release themed around lead. These two influences are both seen in the use of traditional welding uniforms as a base point for the collection.
For Spring/Summer 2019, these uniforms are updated with different fabrics — such as waxed and laminated cotton — and new cuts including welding coats cut in half and reconnected with industrial snaps. For the color palette, Kostadinov used natural green, blue and brown tones in a nod to the work of artist Giuseppe Penone. Take a look through the Mackintosh 0004 collection in the lookbook above.
As well as working with Kiko Kostadinov, Mackintosh also has a new ALYX collaboration on its way.
