Heron Preston Taps NASA & Carhartt WIP for "PUBLIC FIGURE" Drop
A closer look at the collaborative goods.
Following the “PUBLIC FIGURE” lookbook debuted earlier this year, Heron Preston offers a closer look at the brand’s Fall/Winter 2018 collaborations ahead of the release. Encompassing two separate joint drops with NASA & Carhartt WIP, each drop offers an array of thematic layering pieces and accessories.
The more graphic-heavy of the pair, the NASA release centers around neutral or blue-toned items emblazoned with the agency’s 1975 logo and American flag patch. NASA’s mission statement is embroidered on each hoodie, sweater, sweatpant and tee, along with text proclaiming “BASE LAYER” or “FALL/WINTER 1990.” A host of pockets accent a standout white parka and complementary backpack, while a trucker jacket is executed in metallic silver, fulfilling the astronaut inspiration.
For the Carhartt WIP drop, Preston utilizes the workwear label’s sturdy duck canvas as a base for double-knee work pants, vests and jackets with contrasting orange zipper plackets, pant splatters and light distressing. The designer’s preferred orange hues, interchangeably used as accents and base colors, match the omnipresent Carhartt patch that appears on each layering piece, T-shirt and sweaters. Leafy camouflage also appears, complementing embroidered text to create visually busy garments, accented with a pair of knit beanies that recreate Preston’s “СТИЛЬ” branding out of tiny gems.
Heron Preston’s NASA collaboration hits stockists on July 27, with the Carhartt WIP range launching in December. Check out a work-in-progress teaser from earlier this year below.
