Childish Gambino's "This Is America" Officially Goes Platinum

Igniting the music world with its socio-politically message, Childish Gambino‘s “This Is America” has recently reached platinum certification.

Since being released on May 7, the powerful song has enjoyed a stint at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and a plethora of critical acclaim. With the mounting success of “This Is America,” the Recording Industry Association of America has awarded the song with a platinum distinction for moving 1,000,000 units. Much of the success of the Childish Gambino’s song is thanks to the accompanying music video directed by Hiro Murai which expresses issues of social injustice and the black experience.
