A Notorious B.I.G. Memorial Statue Is Coming to Brooklyn
Spread love it’s the Brooklyn way.
The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum is looking to immortalize The Notorious B.I.G. with his own statue in Brooklyn. Organizers from the Biggie Memorial Project are currently seeking to raise $35,000 to make it happen. The Biggie statue would be placed in the Putnam Triangle Plaza, around the same area of the Brooklyn rapper’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. A six-foot-tall sculpture of The Notorious B.I.G.’s face has already been sculpted by Brooklyn-based artist Tanda Francis. The piece was originally on exhibit at the 210 Gallery in New York when the exhibit was still operating. The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum plans on bronzing the statue and relocating it to a permanent location.
A GoFundMe page has since been launched for the Biggie Memorial Project to make this all happen. “This cultural arts attraction will surely be a tourist and economic draw as fans and tourists from around the world come to visit the #BIGGIEMEMORIAL,” says Chairman JT Thompson, creator of the HHHOF Awards and Museum Project.
