Parley Reduces Plastic Pollution With the adidas AM4LA
“From threat-to-thread.”
After recently teasing the latest iteration in the AM4 City Series, Parley — in partnership with SPEEDFACTORY — has released the adidas AM4LA. In a coalesce of innovation and performance, the sneaker was conceived to optimize and support a runner’s dynamic motion while reducing the amount of plastic pollutants found in the ocean.
Delving into the design, the upper consists of plastic yarn recycled from coastal areas, which equates to 11-plastic bottles. The Three Stripes imprint sustained its use of its proprietary technology, as well, by implementing PRIMEKNIT for ventilation, a floating Torsion bar to provide flexibility and stability for heel-to-toe transition, and BOOST for comfort and energy return. Minimalism was kept in mind, as the use of fused bonding construction further accentuates BOOST’s properties. To tie together the themes, the lookbook uses the ubiquitous scenery of the west coast to allude to the earth-conscious sneaker’s Californian essence.
