Waka Flocka Says Lil Uzi Vert Is Not Hip-Hop
“Let my era just be great.”

Late last week, a photo of Lil Uzi Vert donning a scoop neck, tight-fitting distressed, long-sleeve T-shirt, septum and bridge piercings, and a Goyard crossbody bag surfaced online. This image ended up on an old-school vs. new-school hip-hop debate, with the words “Your Hip Hop” and “My Hip Hop” written above the Uzi and Nas respectively. Waka Flocka wasn’t too happy with the comparison and took to IG to write in a now-deleted message that Lil Uzi Vert “is rock not hip-hop.” “This generation has Logic, J. Cole, Meek, K-Dot etc. Let my era just be great! Side note rock artist always been edge.” In accordance to Waka’s comments, Lil Uzi Vert has always said that he is a rock star and not a rapper in the past, and continued to reiterate this even in Playboi Carti’s “Wokeuplikethis*.” Check out the post below and share your thoughts.
