Snoop Dogg Thought Dr. Dre Was a Prank Caller When He First Reached Out
“This ain’t no motherf*ckin’ Dr. Dre.”
Snoop Dogg came up in a time before caller ID was available to everybody. In an appearance on upcoming HBO documentary, The Defiant Ones, Snoop reveals that he thought Dr. Dre was a prank caller when Dre first reached out to him. In the segment, Dre reveals that when he first listened Snoop’s demo tape, he was amazed at what he had heard. When Dre tried to get a hold of Snoop, the Doggystyle rapper wasn’t having it. “This ain’t no motherf*ckin’ Dr. Dre,” he exclaimed, then hanging up on him. It was only after a follow-up voicemail that Snoop was finally convinced that it was actually Dre on the line. Watch the video clip above.
