A welcomed home decor.
U.K.-based auction house Phillips is currently in the midst of holding its “20th Century and Contemporary Art and Design Auction” in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. As part of the lineup, a rare KAWS “Seated Companion” sculpture has been sold for $3.2 million HKD (approximately $411,000 USD), which was initially expected to only take in between $1,500,000 – $2,500,000 HKD (approximately $192,500 – $320,800 USD). Created back in 2011, this bronze “Seated Companion” sculpture (120 x 51 x 75 cm) is work number 7 from an edition of 10. At the bottom, the artist’s signature, date and number “KAWS 11 7/10” can be found engraved.
If you don’t have those deep pockets, you can now 3D print your own KAWS companion.
