A Look Inside Antwerp's Sneaker District Store
With an interior referencing sneaker design and the local neighborhood.

Having established itself as a key sneaker location in Amsterdam, retailer Sneaker District recently looked across the border to open its first store in Belgium. The new Antwerp space was designed by Barde + vanVoltt, an interior design studio based in Amsterdam who worked on the signage, interior, exterior, lighting, product display, furniture and storage features of the store.
Key inspirations for the store included the sneaker design process and the neighborhood’s reputation for high quality antique shops. The space is decorated in a color palette of dark grey and pink. The sneaker influence is clear in the use of mesh cabinets — a reference to mesh detailing on sneakers — and a marble texture designed to remind people of Nike‘s elephant print, while the big antique cabinet is also a nod to the surrounding area. Another key feature of he Sneaker District store is the hang-out space, which includes two velvet sofas made from a Raf Simons x Kvadrat textile. Take a look through the store in the gallery above.
