Shabazz Palaces Drop "30 Clip Extension," Announce Second New Album 'Quazarz vs. the Jealous Machines'
Introducing the story of “sentient being from somewhere else,” Quazarz.
Shabazz Palaces have announced the full-length companion to the other album they have planned for 2017, Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star. Known as Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines, the project is billed as the previously-announced album’s “extra-spatial twin” and will continue the intergalactic tale of the protagonist at the center of Shabazz Palaces’ new musical universe, “sentient being from somewhere else” Quazarz. To support their second major album announcement of the year, Seattle’s Palaceer Lazaro and Tendai “Baba” Maraire have shared a futuristic, genre-bending single dubbed “30 Clip Extension.”
You can check out the “30 Clip Extension” lyric video above; Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines will drop on July 14, the same day as Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star. A special “illustrated” version of the Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines album — complete with a 32-page book — will also be available for purchase on August 18.
