Opposites Attract For L'ORIGINE's Summer 2018 Lookbook
Clean fits and fresh colors.
Following up on its vibrant Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Ghana-based label L’ORIGINE returns for Summer 2018 with a range of clean silhouettes and neat accessories. Based on the theme “opposites attract and enhance,” this season’s garments focus on complementary colors inspired by the impressionism movement and painters such as Claude Monet. Pastel blue and yellow lies at the heart of the range, with some pieces bearing minimal color-blocking via navy pockets, branding patches and geometric graphic prints. The rest of the collection is rounded out with striped shirts, black and white basics, lightweight anoraks printed with “L’ORIGIN3” and “SOCIÉTÉ,” as well as a cross body bags and slides.
The lookbook was designed with a particular emphasis on “opposite” skin color. “With tape on the floor of the set we created an open box,” explains the label. “The open box is occupied by the models. This is to show our society is open for everyone to enter and the skin color of the models shows, it doesn’t matter which race or ethnicity, everyone can enter.”
