HODINKEE & TAG Heuer Drop Exclusive Autavia Calibre Heuer 02
A homage to the rare ’70s “Orange Boy” watch.

TAG Heuer has created a limited Autavia Calibre Heuer 02 for HODINKEE. The time piece pays tribute to rare TAG timepieces from the ’70s, specifically the “Orange Boy” by fusing vintage design elements with modern in-house movement.
“Orange Boy,” an automatic Autavia from the early ’70s earned that nickname in 2004 from an online TAG Heuer collector community called OnTheDash. Details include “racing stripes” in orange on the chronograph minute counter, hands with orange accents, a tachymeter, and automatic chronograph movement. This timepiece also pays homage to the Gay Frères bracelets that came with the vintage pieces by incorporating a “beads-of-rice” band to go with the stainless steel casing.
You can pre-order the TAG Heuer Autavia Calibre Heuer 02 exclusively on HODINKEE Shop now for $6,050 USD with an expected October delivery. Earlier this month, Jony Ive covered the second volume of HODINKEE Magazine.
