Denzel Curry Gets Aggressive on New Song "Percs"
He also spoke to Hot 97 about the origins of SoundCloud rap.
With Denzel Curry‘s new project TA1300 around the corner, the South Florida rapper releases a wild new single titled “Percs.” On the Finatik N Zac-produced single, Curry references Raider Klan, the highly influential group based out of Carol City, Fla. “That playa shit, that Raider shit’s been runnin’ through my blood,” he raps.
The 23-year-old also stopped by Hot 97 to discuss the history of SoundCloud rap. Curry is fed up with rappers taking credit for starting the era. “The history is Odd Future started this shit first. Lil B, Gucci Mane, Chief Keef, A$AP [Mob], and RVIDXR KLVN started what everyone is doing today from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and then on down,” he explains. Curry credits SpaceGhostPurpp and RVIDXR KLVN as the originators of the “SoundCloud” internet scene.
