Curry Barker and Cooper Tomlinson’s ‘Anything But Ghosts’ Gets an Official Premiere Date

Anything But Ghosts officially has a release date. Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster have set the horror-comedy for May 7, 2027. It’s the first film from Curry Barker and Cooper Tomlinson since Obsession, a micro-budget summer hit that turned the pair into one of horror’s most closely watched teams.
The partnership behind Obsession’s run stays intact. Barker directs Anything But Ghosts and co-wrote the script with Tomlinson, who starred in Obsession and has been his creative partner for years. This time, both step in front of the camera as co-leads. Their collaboration predates film. The pair built their following through online comedy sketches, and That’s a Bad Idea, one of the production partners on the new film, carries that history into the credits.
The new project also shifts the genre. Where Obsession played its scares straight, Anything But Ghosts moves into horror-comedy. Its premise centers on a crew of amateur ghost hunters chasing fame who find themselves out of their depth once things take a genuinely frightening turn. The setup plays to both sides of the duo’s background, pairing comedic instincts with the horror chops they proved on their debut.
The cast grows in scale as well. Violet McGraw, Chris Reinacher, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Aaron Paul join Barker and Tomlinson. Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Jason Blum, Adam Hendricks, and Greg Gilreath produce, with Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky Pictures, and Divide/Conquer producing in association with Image Nation and That’s a Bad Idea. Focus Features is releasing the film, and Universal Pictures International is handling its international rollout.
Anything But Ghosts is set for release on May 7, 2027.
