Coach 1941 Resort 2019 Was Inspired by Rock 'n' Roll Sleaze
Directly influenced by Hollywood’s Viper Room nightclub.
Stuart Vevers took Coach 1941 out West for Resort 2019, drawing influence from California’s legendary anything-goes Viper Room club. Famous for hosting countless members of Hollywood’s elite in the ’90s and equally numerous rock bands, Vevers one-time visit to the club in its heyday influenced Coach’s latest collection, resulting in a selection of collaborative graphics.
Offering a selection of clothing and accessories for both men and women, the collection continues developing upon Coach’s leather-heavy reinterpretations of contemporary glamour. Rich with embellishment, the range offers a host of neutral-toned clothing juxtaposed with unmistakably opulent detailing — otherwise-muted sweaters, leather jackets, dresses and tees are bolstered by bold “VIPER ROOM” and Coach branding, gleaming gold accents and shiny satin patches.
Key rock band gear, like stadium jackets and creeper shoes, reappear in elegant textiles and rich colors, with retro fringes adding flair to bags and outerwear alike. Floral patterns and fur trim recall retro icons like Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty alike, while tailored slacks and slim blazers ensure the styling remains firmly grounded in the present.
Expect the collection to arrive on Coach’s web store later this year. Most recently, the American fashion house teamed with Disney for its expansive Pre-Fall 2018 range.
