Chance the Rapper Is Now a Doctor, Gives Commencement Speech to University
Congratulations, Chance the Doctor!
Chance the Rapper posted to Instagram most recently to inform his fans of his latest update: he is now an honorary doctor.
Chance proclaims in his latest IG video that he “is graduating” today. The 25-year-old Chicago native will give the commencement speech to the graduating class of 2018 at Dillard University, where he will also receive his honorary doctorate. Chance has been known for his civic engagement, and was given the opportunity to speak at the commencement “because of his spirit of being entrepreneurial and authentic,” according to Billboard. Most recently, Chance apologized for defending the words of fellow Chicago native Kanye West who, as well, received his honorary doctorate from SAIC.
