After new details about Stranger Things season 3 emerged earlier this year, Netflix has now confirmed that the series has entered production. In a teaser video, it is revealed that “old friends and a few strangers” have started “a new adventure” and that production officially began on April 20.

The clip also confirms that Maya Hawke — who was added to the cast back in March — will appear, alongside other new faces such as Jake Busey and Cary Elwes and most of the much-loved characters from earlier seasons — including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp and Winona Ryder. The clip ends with the full cast taking part in a read through of the script.

Keep an eye out for more details about the new season over the coming months.

In related news, Netflix is working on a documentary series about BuzzFeed reporters.
