Novelist Pays Tribute to a Fallen Emcee on "Rest In Peace"

Novelist is taking time out from his swift, deserved rise to the top of grime’s new school to pay his respects to a fallen friend and fellow emcee. As FADER reports, a grime artist known as MDOT was murdered in south London on Sunday, April 3. Paying tribute, Novelist has served a new song that’s both a dedication to MDOT and a celebration of his life and talents. The song is entitled “Rest In Peace,” and finds Novelist adopting a vocal-less, instrumental approach. Tragedy may have struck London’s artist community, but the leader of “the new U.K. underground sound” is pulling something positive out of it. You can stream “Rest In Peace” below.
