Kendrick Lamar's 'DAMN.' Could Lose to Drake's 'More Life' in First Week Sales
K-Dot could also lose to J. Cole’s ‘4 Your Eyez Only.’

Kendrick Lamar‘s new album DAMN. has been out since Friday, and it is predicted to be his most successful album commercially. According to Billboard, DAMN. is forecasted to move 475,000 equivalent album units in its first week and to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. While moving nearly half a million units is no easy feat, Kendrick fails to surpass Drake‘s More Life, which moved 505,000 units in its first week. Compared to his previous projects, however, K-Dot’s projected numbers for DAMN. is much higher — 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly moved 363,000 units, 2012’s good kid, m.A.A.d city gained 241,000 and his rarities compilation project untitled unmastered. earned 178,000. Other recent comparable albums Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide) earned 451,000 equivalent album units its first week and J. Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only launched at No. 1 with 492,000 on its first week.
