Janelle Monáe Shares Stunning Video for “PYNK"
The visual was directed by Emma Westenberg.
Janelle Monáe shares her third single “PYNK alongside a new music video, which is directed by Emma Westenberg. The record will be off her forthcoming album, Dirty Computer. The song features Grimes, who previously worked with Monáe for “Venus Fly” off Grimes’s 2015 album Art Angels. Starring alongside Janelle Monáe in the “PYNK” visual is actress Tessa Thompson.
“PYNK,” which is produced by Wynne Bennett, Nate “Rocket” Wonder and Chuck Lightning, utilizes the color pink to describe different parts of the body, among other things. “Pink like the inside of your, baby/Pink behind all of the doors, crazy/Pink like the tongue that goes down, maybe/Pink like the paradise found,” she sings. Bennett also co-wrote the song too.
In February, Monáe dropped “Make Me Feel” and “Django Unchained,” the first singles from Dirty Computer. The album, however, doesn’t have a release date yet. It was revealed in February that before Prince died, he worked on Monáe’s upcoming album.
