Following on from the launch of its Galaxy S9 and S9+ models, Korean tech manufacturer Samsung has revealed the latest addition to its offering: the 4K QLED line of televisions. One of the standout features of the new TVs is the “ambient mode,” which allows the screens to camouflage against the wall they are hanging on.
To activate the “ambient mode,” the user takes a picture of the TV hanging on the wall. Following this, the screen creates a new screensaver matching the backdrop, allowing it to blend in apart from its tiny bezel. The 4K QLED line is Samsung’s latest attempt at disguising its TVs, following last year’s Frame model and the Wall from earlier this year. The QLED TVs — complete with “ambient mode” — are set to begin shipping this month.
In other tech news, a 1923 Leica recently became the most expensive camera ever.
