Norway's House of Many-Worlds Is an Ideal Winter Retreat
An example in maximising apartment space.
For its latest project, Norwegian architecture firm Austigard Arkitektur has transformed an apartment in Oslo into a perfect winter retreat. Although the space is small, multi-functional rooms and space-saving methods have opened up the apartment to make it a suitable size for the family that live there.
The key way space has been maximized is through the use of the loft, which features low windows and an all-in-one bench, bed and table. The loft space is finished with half-transparent steel panels, giving a look into the double height space of the main apartment. Elsewhere, the apartment features large windows on each side, giving a look into the surrounding treetops and the space’s location. You can take a look around the House of Many-Names in Oslo above.
