London-based architecture firm Nicholas Szczepaniak has transformed a former industrial space in the city’s Islington region into a sleek modern apartment. The task was to turn a dated dwelling into a home suitable for the new owners and their young family.
Arguably the key new addition from the architects was the reworked roof top conservatory, which turned a storage space into an extra room complete with outdoor space. Elsewhere, the rest of the apartment was completely redesigned, creating a stripped back aesthetic. The interior materials see exposed wood used on the roof top space and kitchen, which is contrasted against the exposed concrete and industrial windows that feature throughout. Take a look through the space above.
