30 Music Pairings As Lit As Drake & Kanye West's "Glow"
Broaden your musical horizons with the best duos of 2017 (so far).
Back in September, Kanye West confirmed that he has a collaborative album with Drake in the works. ‘Ye revealed to Vogue in an interview that he and Drake are “working on a bunch of music together” and “having fun going into the studio.” “We’re working on an album,” Ye specified, exclaiming that there are some exciting things “coming up soon.” Six months later, and neither more details nor music from the collaborative effort have surfaced. With Yeezy having undergone a few complications since, it’s uncertain whether or not the album will actualize. Luckily for all Papi and West fans, the two rap demigods finally paired up once and for all on the Toronto rapper’s More Life track, “Glow.” Although “Glow” took about 18 writers (including Drizzy and ‘Ye) to make, it is officially the first song the OVO and the G.O.O.D. Music bosses are on together without the involvement of other artists. The reviews on the song have been mixed; some feel that both gave a commendable performance while others felt “Glow” was not one of the standouts on More Life. Nevertheless, having Drizzy and Kanye on the same track is big news regardless of how good the song is.
In celebration of the release of “Glow,” we’ve put together a list of 30 other notable music pairings (solo and/or group) that happened in 2017 — from Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti, to Frank Ocean and Migos, to 6LACK and Jhene Aiko, to Future and The Weeknd. Since it was recently announced that ZAYN & PARTNEXTDOOR teamed up for “Still Got Time” and that Lil Wayne & Nicki Minaj reunited again for the third time this year for the David Guetta-produced “Light My Body Up,” there is no better time than now to reflect on the year’s best musical pairings.
