Ralph Lauren Gets Preppy for Spring 2018
From the boardroom to the backcountry.

In line with its founder’s heritage, Ralph Lauren suits up for Spring 2018 with a mix of relaxed tailoring and waterfront staples. Preppy classics are a key motif of the line, which elevates Ivy League style to its logical peak.
Kicking things off with a bleached denim jacket and the house’s iconic tapered trousers, the collection saw a host of sensible looks that blended nautical influence with preppy staples. Espadrille shoes were worn with trim suiting, while white pants and shirts granted appropriately muted contrast to the navy blazers and yellow sweaters. Standout items like a yacht-embroidered sweater and leather coats were some of the more daring pieces, toned down with washed-out denim and turtleneck sweaters. Driving the white collar inspiration home, collegiate crests appeared on the chest pocket of several blazers, with ascots and embroidered ties completing the upscale styling.

Most recently, Ralph Lauren hit Selfridges to launch its immediately-sold-out SNOW BEACH line.
