Jamiroquai Follows up Its Comeback Single With the Funky Disco Tune, "Cloud 9"
It’s been 21 years since “Virtual Insanity.”
After seven years of laying low, Jamiroquai has reemerged and hit the ground running. With their comeback single “Automaton” racking up a few million views in less than a month’s time, the “Virtual Insanity” legends are wasting little time as far as the record’s followup track is concerned. Delivering some modern disco for their 2017 audience, the collective shares the funky “Cloud 9.” Breaking down today’s drop via press release, frontman Jay Kay had the following to say regarding his group’s latest single:
“‘Cloud 9’ is a song that’s written in the style that I hope people know us for and are familiar with. It’s a song that if anyone that has been jilted and yet found love somewhere else will no doubt relate to. Can’t wait for you to hear it – get in the car, stick it on the radio and just drive.”
Like the previously-released cut, “Cloud 9” comes to us in support of Jamiroquai’s eighth studio album Automaton, which is scheduled to hit shelves and streaming services on March 31.
