Freddie Gibbs Gets Introspective for "Freddie Gordy" Video

Freddie Gibbs might be best known for being gangsta rap’s greatest modern flag-bearer, but just like all the other gangsta rap heroes of old, he can dig deep and serve up something more introspective when the time calls for it. After doing lyrical victory laps and putting on for the most cutthroat of trappers, Gibbs challenges his dark side face-to-face for a new video for “Freddie Gordy.” The song originally served as one of the closing tracks off his most recent album Shadow of a Doubt, and has quickly become one of the LP’s strongest standouts. Much of the video was filmed in the Bay, where director Jonah Schwartz followed Gibbs as he visited The Jacka’s memorial and more. You can check out the clip for “Freddie Gordy” above.
