This Australian-Owned Porsche 911 Turbo Is a Family's Handful
Tons of turbolag, don’t care.
Next up to be featured in Petrolicious‘ original series “Made to Drive” is this stunning example of a Porsche 911 Turbo 930. Of the 1978 year production run, only 28 were imported into Australia — a milestone in itself of exclusivity and importance. The car stands tall, in near mint condition, donning a stunning white paint job, while the owner explains its family-owned history and notorious turbolag: “[when] you put your foot you think ‘oh, it’s gonna go soon,’ and all of a sudden that’s when you get this almighty kick. It really does throw your back into the seat.” The owner continues to explain the origin of its nickname “The Widowmaker,” in that its infamous power and handling has led to drivers who “bought these cars and didn’t come home.” Nevertheless, the Shakespeare family love their 930 and can’t see it ever leaving its ownership hands.
