Ticket Sales for Beyonce's 'Formation Tour' Have Already Exceeded $100 Million
The Queen.

A couple weeks ago, Beyonce announced her next major world tour, the “Formation World Tour.” With not even a month deep into ticket sales, Billboard is reporting that Queen Bey has already racked up over $100 million in ticket sales. Arthur Fogel, chairman of Live Nation Global Touring, calls the numbers “beyond fantastic,” while labeling the tour’s entire rollout — from the Superbowl performance to the new single and its video — “genius.” “When you go up [on sale] and sell out stadiums, and in some markets multiple stadiums… it’s big,” Fogel tells Billboard. In comparison, Billboard notes that Beyonce’s 2013-2014 ”Mrs. Carter World Tour” generated “$212 million from attendance of nearly 2 million across 126 shows.” Beyonce’s forthcoming tour will not officially begin until April 27, when the “Formation Tour” rolls into Miami, Florida’s Marlins Park. After three months of consecutive shows, Beyonce will conclude her next tour in Brussels, Belgium on July 31.
