Ryan Korban is probably best known for his behind-the-scenes work for Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Diesel Gold, Aquazzura, Fivestory, Joie and other brands, where he made a name for himself building artful flagship stores. Now, Korban is focusing on putting together his most significant project yet: a “61-unit luxury building” located in the center of NoHo, close to Supreme and other high-profile retailers.
Known as 40 Bleecker Street, Ryan Korban’s latest effort is one of many new “ultra-luxury residences” hitting that particular NoHo neighborhood; Morris Adjmi, Annabelle Selldorf, Herzog & de Meuron and more have all put up similar projects there. With 40 Bleecker Street, Korban aims to “strike a balance between masculine and feminine materials, textures, styles and objects.” Everything involved with the building of 40 Bleecker Street is a one-of-a-kind creation from Korban, and the renowned designer has also utilized items from his most recent custom furnishings line.
