Google Pixel 2's Pixel Visual Core Processing Coming to Third-Party Apps

Google’s Pixel 2 has an image processing unit called Pixel Visual Core that will soon be accessible to third-party apps in an upcoming update. The Pixel Visual Core features eight cores designed by the company, with HDR+ capabilities useful for tricky lighting in a given environment.
This feature was introduced exclusively for the phone’s camera app, but the newest update will allows the IPU to be free for other app cameras to use like Snapchat, Instagram, and WeChat. Alongside the update will be more AR stickers, this time of Netflix’s Stranger Things. The update is set to roll out in the next few days, starting immediately.
